RM Bridge Modeler Help

Icon bars on the right hand side

This symbol column contains all functions for the activation of a certain list or a graphic window, for the segment definitions (system preparation for RM Bridge) and the export.

SettingDescription
Axis list

List of axes will be opened.

Segment list

List of segm will be opened.

Cross Sections list

List of csect will be opened.

X-Y

RM Bridge: "X-Z" The whoriz is shown in the foreground.

S-H

The wvert of the active axis is shown in the foreground.

Cross section

The wcross is shown in the foreground.

HP-Data

The activated list shows the plan view calculation of an axis in numerical form. This list is described in detail in the chapter "hplst ".

VP-Data

The activated list shows the elevation calculation of an axis in numerical form. This list is described in detail in the chapter "vplst ".

Segment points

The list of the existing segment points is displayed. This list is described in detail in the chapter "splst ".

f(x)

Definition of tables and formulas

Recalculate project

The project will be updated. Therefore, all FE-cross sections at the segment points will be calculated using the current values.

Recalculate project / evaluate formulas

The project will be updated. Therefore, all FE-cross sections at the segment points will be calculated using the formula expressions of the variables and de-coding them. The so calculates values will be considered in the currently valid unit.

Note: This type of calculation is slower and only necessary, when any used formula or table have been changed before.
Plot

According to the active graphic window, a plot file of the ground plan, the elevation or the cross section can be produced, respectively.

Export and Import

Presently, there are two different methods for exporting data. Cross sections, elements (beams) and their nodes can be passed to RM. Additionally, the database of RM Bridge Modeler can be exported to an TCL file (the data can be re-imported from such files into the database of RM Bridge Modeler).

RM-Export

If all construction steps (see main ) for defining the system done, the data can be passed to the database of RM. The data are passed in binary without any level of TCL files between.

Note: RM Bridge may be active simultaneously. An input window or a run of calculation in RM Bridge must not be active!
TCL-Import

The TCL file created by the export function can be read (imported). The  existing objects in the database will be overwritten.

TCL-Export

The current RM Bridge Modeler database is written to an TCL file. This is usually done to save a certain state of construction.

Note: Bentley Systems Austria recommends to save several steps of the work to different(!) TCL files. If the input of tendon schemes have been used, the file cl_backup.cl9 has to bepart of a complete backup of the GP-model.
